How Attorney's Benefit from JAG?

Be Prepared!

JAG will assist you in planning, and implementing your successful career journey!

Attorney Services

JAG & Associates, from an attorney’s perspective, has the experience and ability to seek out the firm or corporate positions best suited for ultimate job satisfaction and maximum compensation for their present level in an environment conducive to career growth and success.

Job Search Planning Stage – Consulting

JAG & Associates will review your resume to identify your specific goals, experiences, motivations and other relevant factors related to your decision to seek a new position. If your goals are not clearly defined or are unrealistic, we will use our experience and resources to assist in reassessing them.

Next, we will identify existing opportunities which match your objectives and qualifications. Because we are in continuous communication with hiring attorneys and recruitment coordinators at law firms and corporations, we are able to advise you on the specifics of our clients’ hiring needs, as well as details of their legal practice. If necessary, we may suggest further refinement of your objectives and expectations while placing emphasis on your skills most desire by our client.

Pre-Interview Stage – Advocacy Preparation

We will forward your resume and the pertinent details of your resume to the appropriate hiring attorney or recruitment coordinator. If necessary, we will advocate your candidacy by describing particular qualities or skills which may not be apparent from your resume.

Being well prepared for an interview is critical to the success of your job search. In most cases, the decision to hire you will be based upon the impression you make during the interview. Once your interview has been scheduled, your consultant will assist in your preparation by providing you with client resumes, relevant articles about the client and, where possible, a list of attorneys with whom you will be meeting. In addition, we will offer suggestions regarding your interviewing skills and supply you with a thought-provoking package of interview technique materials.

Post-Interview Stage – Liaison

JAG & Associates not only advocates your candidacy, but acts as a liaison between you and our clients. We will attempt to correct any misconceptions by either you or the client following the initial interview. We will schedule any additional rounds of interviews, provide you with relevant feedback from interviews and discuss any needed modifications of your interview skills. As your liaison and advocate, we will maximize your chances for obtaining the position you seek.

Negotiations – Offer and Acceptance

Once an offer has been made to you, we assist in the negotiation of its terms (e.g. salary, partnership status, years to partnership, bonus eligibility, relocation package, etc.). Where multiple offers have been extended, we will offer you our expertise in weighing the merits of each opportunity.

Nationwide Services

Most major law firms and corporations have offices in other markets and countries. Our professional contacts with these offices provide us with the opportunity to work with the home offices of such firms. Thus, if you are considering relocating to a metropolitan area outside of your present location, we will be able to assist you in your job search. We also pride ourselves in personalized searches.

We have been successful in assisting attorneys interested in relocating to diverse commercial centers across the country, not generally a service offered by other attorney search firms.

Fees

The notion that payment of a fee to an attorney recruiting firm may adversely affect an attorney's chance in obtaining a particular position should be dispelled. Our clients have retained JAG to identify qualified attorneys and have budgeted for any resulting fee payments. The most successful law firms and corporations will hire the attorney best qualified for the job, regardless of the presence of a fee. The successful candidate is often the attorney who has been  thoroughly prepared, is knowledgeable about the position, and who has had an advocate working on their behalf. Accordingly, all recruiting fees are paid by the Firm or corporation for which we are conducting a search.

Retained search refers to the fee paid arrangement between JAG and our client that has engaged our services.  In most cases, JAG has received a consulting fee in advance of any on-going search assignments.

Finally, our fees are structured well below that of other search firms, which encourages client loyalty. We are proud to report that the majority of our clients are repeat clients.

Confidentiality

We work only with recruitment professionals and hiring attorneys who are keenly aware of the need to handle the placement of new and lateral attorneys with utmost confidentiality. In order to maintain appropriate confidentiality during the recruiting process, please identify any law firms or corporations, etc., which you do not want to be considered as a candidate.

Due Diligence

You may be able to find a new position without the assistance of a legal search firm. The critical issue facing a more experienced attorney considering a career move is whether this next position will be the best one currently available in terms of career potential, compensation and practice area. We at JAG & Associates firmly believe that the counseling and assistance provided to you by our consultants will significantly enhance your opportunities in an extremely competitive and complex legal marketplace and will insure that your search will be as thorough, confidential and well-informed as possible. We welcome the opportunity to assist you.
